Jan 2020: the Hague!
I live in the Hague, not in Utrecht
Hello future! Let's be present. I am Stijn, a 24 year old Dutch kid who tries to combine artistic expression with a lifestyle philosophy. I am momentarily interested in the exploration of something vaguely described as *sustainable character development*. I am walking through life with love for my book, good water and my feet.
I used to live together with Sebastiaan Kraaijveld where we hosted a bunch of couchsurfers (check out his profile too! https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/sebastiaankraaijveld).
I have couchsurfed in the Netherlands, Australia, Germany, France, Norway, Italy Indonesia, Vietnam and Portugal!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Surfing couches, to share and hear stories. To open my mind and challenge my preconceptions. To find other artist or people that need murals ! Very keen on being artistic for good people in good places.
Interests
I love improvised cooking, aimless wandering, jenga thinking and routine sketching.
Im would like to collaborate and learn how to write short stories, draw them and share them. Also I want to learn more about (analog) photography, wildlife, tea and other brewings..

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Fat Freddies Drop, electronic, psytrance. Drums. Lyric-less-ness is best, long instrumental journeys are great.
Books: 'The Book' ('on the taboo against knowing who you are') by Alan Watts is my current favourite. In general I find that new ideas, insights and food for thought are things I cannot seem to waste my time on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking and wildcamping around this Earth of 'ours' has been amazing! I got paid to sail around and point out wildlife in Australia. I lived like a homeless person 'accidentally' for a short time and found value in the harsh lesson.
Teach, Learn, Share
"A smooth sea never made skillful sailor." - English proverb
For me that means; be humble, learn through challenging yourself, practice daily.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Simple kindness, abstract and realistic conversations. A listening ear, a drawing hand. Cookery! Cleanery. Tidyness. Big thoughts. Small acts.
