I came to Chicago for a visit many years ago, fell in love with the place, and decided to change my life trajectory so that I could stay. Best decision I ever made. Before that, I lived in St. Louis for 8 years. If you are looking for recommendations for either city, I'm your girl.

I am a planner in the sense that I do tons of research before I visit somewhere: lists and spreadsheets detailing must-see sites, cool neighborhoods, the best restaurants, you name it. However, I always leave room for spontaneity. Some of the best experiences I've had were due to happenstance or a tip from someone in the know. I especially value learning about the history of a place and all the little gems that get me away from the typical tourist destinations.
