I'm a 22-years-old, open-minded girl (or woman? never now which expression fits better) from Germany who just finished her bachelor in psychology and is taking a year off now to explore the world and its beautiful places. In this case, New Zealand is my first destination, and I already love this country, especially all the friendly and helpful people here. Let's see where my destiny will carry me in the next months - the one thing I know is: I'm excited about it and I'm looking forward to this little adventure. In general, I would say that I'm a communicative person that enjoys to meet new people. Sometimes I'm overthinking things a little too much maybe, but most of the time I'm spreading joy when I'm around people. I like good conversations - especially in combination with a glass of wine and tasty food. Aaaand some people would claim I'm addicted to chocolate (which is always good for your soul I argue, haha).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to connect with people from all over the world, exchanging ideas, opinions, cultural features and all that stuff. In addition, I think the best way to explore a country and its characteristics and most beautiful places is getting in touch with locals. Staying in a hostel can also be nice and you meet a lot of people, but as I want to improve my English and there are sooooooo many Germans travelling around New Zealand at the moment, I think Couchsurfing seems to be an interesting alternative which I would love to try out.

Interests

I'm in love with music! I play the piano since I am a 6-years-old little girl and I never stopped loving it. Today I'm also accompanying myself while singing and have some concerts in my hometown (okay, to be honest, it's more a village).

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band is Mumford & Sons. I'm totally in love with the voice of this man and with their lyrics as well - these guys just touch me. There are also tonnes of other bands I enjoy listening to, especially Folk-, Rock- and Indie-Bands, sometimes Reggae as well - depends on the mood.
My favorite film director is Quentin Tarantino (not least because of the great film music in his movies, haha).
I don't really have a favorite book so far, because I read many different ones, but I definitely love all the Harry Potter books (the movies as well) - they always carry me into a completely different world and let me forget my surrounding. So cheers to J.K. Rowling for opening this door into this magical world.
