About Me

Hej I'm Chris. I love cooking and getting to know other places and cultures. That's why I decided to not work in the field I studied (Climate & Politics) but to become a cook on a research vessel. The vessel has brought me to Patagonia which I'm exploring now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to get in contact with people I would otherwise not meet as it's partly quite difficult to get to know local cultures and people in the tourist-oriented places. I'm looking for good times together, let them be cooking together, hiking, just hanging around or exchanges ideas and opinions about ourselves and sociey.

Interests

The things I probably do the most when travelling is finding new perspectives for my camera and finding new places for good and local food. Besides I like nature and music a lot, which goes quite well with travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I'm listening a lot to downtempo and electronic music that may be considered as indie electronic music. Four Tet, Caribou, Weval are among my favourite artists at the moment. Fred again is just a good, yet doing a bit more "pop" music. Also this new genre "neue neue deutsche welle" has caught my attention: Steintor Herrenchor for example - very recent music that sounds like it's much older. Anyhow, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and others are also nice ;)

good films I like a lot. A24 produces fantastic movies such as the Florida Project. Also Victoria, Parasite and Call me by your name are movies I love. This list could go on for a long time haha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on a Hike without a guide in the nationalpark Huascaran in Peru during the rainy season just with a friend and a backpack full of camping gear (and lots of other heavy things, camera etc). It got pretty snowy when getting closer to the pass "Punta Union" and we haven't seen anybody for 2 days. We lost the path and it took us several hours to get the ridge. The hours that felt like days. Yet we made after two very sketchy situations. This was intense but amazing, as I love standing at the edge and taking some risks.
