CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to love and learn. I have a huge heart and am constantly looking for thing things to fill it with. Be it music, friends, nature, art, or myself. I want to learn from others as I travel. I love learning about other cultures!

ABOUT ME

I am a motherly soul. I take care of the people around me, am very friendly and sweet. I am goofy and have a big heart. I value sharing what you have. I work hard at everything and I am very social. If I were a dog I'd be a golden retriever.

PHILOSOPHY

I am extremely open minded. I consider myself to be spiritual and believe in nature/science above most things. I think that all religions have common beliefs and morals which are inherently good and that organized religions both inspire people to do good and at the same time can have negative impacts on the society when people stop thinking for themselves. I am a free thinker but take every opportunity to learn and inform myself about alternative possibilities. I in no way think I have any answers but have a good idea about who I want to be and what I want to contribute to this Earth.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to host mellow couch-surfers and would be happy to do some entertaining and be a part of the experience but I am a student and am gone during the day so I would need people to be independent as well. I would also like to use this site to find people to stay with as I travel who can show me the culture and how to have a good time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had an amazing journey in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy where I met many amazing friends through this site and until my next big journey I'd love to pay it forward and meet/host other wanderers.

Nature and the outdoors grab my attention. I love the beauty that nature has to offer and I am happiest outside. I also love music, listening to it and making it. I sing and am now learning the guitar. I love kids and am a preschool teacher. I love the silly and intelligent things they have to say. I am enthralled by art but I wish I were better at it. I make a badass dream-catcher though. I love to learn about animals and the environment, and can't wait to one day find my career in the environmental sciences.

Music is one of my biggest inspirations. I love to sing and am constantly surrounded by music. My most inspirational artists are Sigur Ros, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Wye Oak, Fleet Foxes, Emancipator, Flaming Lips, Beach House, Antony and the Johnsons, Feist, and Jose Gonzales to name just a few. As far as movies go, I don't find a whole lot of time to watch them but a few that I've really liked are Heima, MILK, El Nombre, Brokeback Mountain, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, American History X, Crash, and others that I'm sure I could think about if I tried. I love to read books that are realistic and/or about nature. Some of my favorites are 1984, The Motorcycle Diaries, Naked, And Their Eyes Were Watching God, and many many others.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

At first glance, this moment may seem insignificant, but it was absolutely eye-opening to me. I caught a spider at the exact moment that it decided to make a fly it's meal. It all happened so quickly and I was simply amazed at how efficiently the spider was able to catch and wrap it's prey. It was a beautiful moment in nature that I was lucky to a spectator of. It only solidified my identity as an environmentalist.

I enjoy learning from people that are different from myself. I would never change and evolve if I constantly surrounded myself by people with the exact same philosophies as me! I enjoy hearing other peoples perspectives, adopting the ones that I like, and respectfully rejecting the ones that I don't. I believe that everyone should have the right to believe in whatever it is they believe, as long as they aren't trying to get in the way of other people's inherent right to do the same.
