About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Something about couch surfing gives me hope in humanity. I’m Dedicated to celebrating the Absolute magical wonder in the world in Beautiful places and also through meeting wonderful new people. I only accept guests who are verified and hve references. I am also delighted to meet visitors for coffee or wine and visit somewhere in Nashville so please message me on travels if you are in the area. .

ABOUT ME

First - If you host me/me and a friend -I will read your profile carefully more than once to know about you and will respect your home, pets, children, friends and follow all of your house rules. If you prefer I leave house when you do and return likewise that is fine with me. I come to Couchsurfing not just to make traveling more affordable and possible but to make friends and meet people around the world. I will not treat your house like a hotel or you like a cook or maid but a friend.

I'm an author and grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida but now make my home in North Carolina on the coastal area north of Wilmington. Two of my novels were translated into spanish and a memoir into Korean and German. I love that it's reaching people of other countries and have enjoyed communicating and connecting with those readers.

I love the power of story in life. It is my greatest passion. How those stories tie us together.

PHILOSOPHY
We're all in this together.
And part of that beautiful is seeing the wonder of the world and the beauty in different people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on for years. Love the entire concept of Couchsurfing for making new friends around the world. Love to meet up with people traveling to Nashville even if they don't stay with me. Just returned from Scotland for research on my book The Ancient Way that came out in 2020. Greatest part of the trip - making new friends through Couchsurfing! Looking forward to more travels and meeting great people.

Love to meet up with people from everywhere interested in travel, different cultures.

Love all kinds of movies and a fan of Netflix series - Stranger Things. And a total tribe member of series Station Eleven.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experienced the 100% Totality of the recent eclipse in Nashville! Wonderstruck!

Amazing things seen - THe Green flash that happens on the rarest occasions at sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. I caught it. Meteor showers driving across New Mexico alone late at night. One morning early when I happened to get up before dawn and catch a full moon setting just like the sun. i lived on the coast at the time and jumped in my car and drove to the marina to watch it fall into the water. Wonderfully, discovered that lots of other people had shown up in the cars and had followed the moon there to watch it set. None of us knowing one another but being on the same thought/feeling page.

Swimming with wild dolphins in the gulf and touching them. That was one of the greatest ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

We all have something to teach someone and something we can learn from everyone. Officially, I teach creative writing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Southern stories, tips on writing, News and information on the writing life and publishing. Information on producing a live radio program and podcasting. And talk books and movies forever.
