I studied Social Thought & Political Economy (STPEC) and Journalism. In 2015-2016, I studied abroad in Spain, but I didn't like it so I cut my studies short and traveled alone for 9 months in Spain, France and a lil tiny bit of Germany & Hungary.
I've been active with workaway.info volunteering in exchange for food and shelter.

I love being outside and active, and have a particular fascination with insects. If you're afraid of them, I promise I can save you and/or teach you to love them! I am very interested in critical social&political discourse, especially beyond the democrat/republican binary and media. In fact, I don't like any binaries. Or mainstream media.

I'm generally interested in connecting with others more deeply than the traditional, "hey you seem cool let's hang out sometime and talk about celebs and maybe I'll tell you how many siblings I have and how happy I want you to think I am" type of thing. I like hearing and talking about what makes us feel human, passionate, alive.

PHILOSOPHY

Living in a constant state of self-reflection. Embrace change. Use negative experiences as a tool to enable positive development.

I truly believe that the only way to fully realize the individual self is through community organization, action and living.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have really enjoyed my experiences - I like meeting local people, often travelers themselves, and learning about them and the places they love. I feel it gives me a better perspective of the places I travel to. I don't very much like to be a tourist, I want to have unique experiences. Some of my favorite experiences so far have been through the help/guidance/presence of couchsurfing hosts.

My musical taste has been rapidly expanding lately, I couldn't even begin to explain. But my most recent favorites are Hiatus Kaiyote, Moondog, Flying Lotus, Buke & Gaze, Polo & Pan

Movies: (Hayao Miyazaki, Wes Anderson, David Lynch, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Charlie Kaufman, Quentin Tarantino) LOTR, The Dark Crystal, The Animatrix, classic gooduns like Green Mile, Full Metal Jacket, and pretty much any dark cerebral film, dark comedy, (well-researched) documentary or psychological thriller. Also B movies. Also really weird shit.

TV: I like sci fi (Star Trek!!), anime, political/historical fiction/fantasy and political comedy.

Books: Man's Search for Meaning, V for Vendetta, Invisible Man, Pedagogy of Freedom, Shel Silverstein, Pillars of the Earth, MAUS I & II, 1984, Caliban and the Witch, amateur poetry

I can make a pretty tasty meal with whatever is in the fridge, but I also have some of my own recipes I can share! I *love* cooking.

I can teach you cool things about insects/animals and maybe help you to like/tolerate/love them more :P
