About Me

Hi! My name is Andy. I am from San Diego, California.

I have traveled to almost 60 countries over the past 20 years for work, studies, and the the pure joy of exploring. I used to work as a long distance cycling guide in Europe, and I am an avid Single Speed rider here in Southern California. I have done a little bit of touring in Croatia & Montenegro, but I am now embarking on my largest cycling adventure to date! I am biking from Bar Harbor, Maine, to San Diego, California, starting May 16, 2018. I lost my Dad to Brain Cancer 2 years ago, so now I am doing the ride that he had always wanted to do! I am raising $10K for Brain Cancer Research by doing this ride. ( https://www.astoutride.org/ (link is external) )

I love to cook, surf, and trail run, so it will be a change of pace as i'll be on the saddle for the better part of three months. I am a non-smoker, and have no allergies. I am a bit of an experimental cook, and am always open to new foods. As I come from San Diego, I am a lover of a good IPA. I cannot wait to try a few new beers along the ride this spring/summer!

I have been camping since I was a kid, so I am looking forward to sleeping in my tent as much as possible. Or on a couch! Just need a place to cook some food, and clean up before riding the next day.

I am low maintenance, and love to keep things neat and orderly. If you were to open your home or backyard to me I would love to share some travel stories, and the 1st beer is on me:)
