About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting as many people as possible from around the world

ABOUT ME

I am a 53 year old, black Jr./Sr. High School Spanish teacher. I love traveling nationally or internationally. I was an AFS (American Field Service) exchange student to Italy for the summer of 1981 and a Rotary Club Scholarship recipient to Spain for 1985-86. I am a very outgoing person and I generally like talking and interacting with people from all walks of life.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in making friends with as many people as possible because we all share a common bond: we're human beings despite cultural, religious, political and myriads of differences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted over (60) people since I joined. In the spring of 2012, I hosted 16 members of a Latvian Gospel Singing Group. That was a great experience. They serenaded me one night with about 10 songs. They also mailed me a CD of some of their music when they got back home to Latcia. It's been a great experience hosting people. I have enjoyed my own couchsurfing experiences as well. I look forward to being able to host again some day. It's just that in 2012-2013 I was the host father for two boys via the AFS (American Field Service) Exchange Program. One son was from Switzerland and the other son from Denmark. After they left I rented out my two free bedrooms, so I decided not to host. Perhaps the new tenant won't mind having couch surfers staying occasionally.
