Hello, my name is James Chen. I am a Chinese; also I am a member of Tujia ethnic group in China. Currently I am doing my Ph.D in International Development at Clark University in U.S. My research interests focus on development studies, anthropology of art, human geography, indigenous studies, race and ethnicity, minority ethnic group handcraft studies.
In addition, I am good at folk songs and Latin dance , and I have traveled many places so that I would like to share my adventure stories with you.

“我是家乡石头底下的磨牙草，耐湿耐旱，不折不曲，总是向阳而生。” 1981年，我出生于贵州省一个小山村，“前面临河， 背后靠山; 十里稻香，万亩茶场，老家是我灵魂的源头。”走过很多地方，总是爱山爱水爱自然风物，一切源于家乡那片灵性的土地。当过国企工人、美术编辑、新闻记者，最长的经历是花了近8年的时间行走在中国的西南，运用人类学的眼光，解读西南的山地文明与风物人情。2007年获中央民族大学文化人类学硕士学位，2011年获国际奖学金赴美求学，2013获国际发展与社会变迁硕士学位，目前为美国克拉克大学国际发展研究博士侯选人，研究专长主要集中在国际发展研究、文化人类学、艺术人类学、人文地理学、国际发展研究、东南亚研究、拉丁美洲研究等领域。
