About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Build loving connections and lasting friendships with people from many different cultures

ABOUT ME

Adventure and free will are what keep me going in the morning. The knowledge that every new day brings about infinite possibilities is an amazing concept. I want to explore as much as possible without money limiting my learning endeavors (traveling is definitely a learning opportunity).

PHILOSOPHY

I am on this earth to learn as much as possible during this brief time and I don't want to waste a single minute.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Whenever I stay put in one place for a certain amount of time I offer up my couch/floor/bed etc. for others who want to see what life has to offer without putting a strain on their cash flow (or lack of). I also like to couchsurf especially in other countries to get the insider perspective of where I'm visiting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It always puts a huge smile on my face when people I have just met offer up their couch or floor for me to stay. It is ridiculous to pay $50-100 for a hotel for one night and no one should have to do that! When I lived in Seattle, I hosted several travelers from various countries at my house. So far I have couch-surfed in the states as well as in Mexico and Peru.

Interests

Writing, zines, cooking and eating organic food, dumpster diving, prayer, meditation, my bicycle, social justice, LGBTQ rights, traveling (duh!), politics, spirituality, exploring, hitchhiking, roofs, abandoned buildings, sleeping in my tent and under the stars

Music, Movies, and Books

Celestine Prophecy, Way of the Peaceful Warrior, 1984, Utopia and the Jungle are my favorite books.
I love documentaries and Waking Life, I Heart Huckabees, V for Vendetta, and But I'm a Cheerleader to name a new.
I like electronic, hip hop, folk, bluegrass and anything and everything in between. Some artists I am really into currently are the XX, Dead Prez, Miike Snow, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and Tallest Man on Earth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking a train through the Copper Canyon in Mexico was an amazing, beautiful adventure. Attending Burning Man 2010, 2013 and 2017 in Black Rock City, Nevada and the 2011 Rainbow Gathering in the National Forest in Washington were also incredible eye-opening experiences full of love and kindness. Also experiencing the beauty and love that characterized my 2 month stay in Peru in 2011 was the best.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a wide range of knowledge on several different topics...however, discussions on spirituality is always a bigger treat than a giant piece of vegan chocolate cake.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, Israel, Mexico, Peru
