ABOUT ME
I worked for an outdoor therapy program with at-risk teens for a year and a half, Eckerd Youth Alternatives Camp E-Ku-Sumee, Candor, NC. I mostly miss it.
Travel across the US and around East Asia keeps me buzzing.
In Beijing, I explore hutongs, markets, and parks whenever unoccupied. Otherwise I teach and organize hikes through Culture Yard (or test-runs, which you're welcome to join).
Friendly, awkward, hopefully helpful, and love teaching people contra-dancing in bars or street corners.
PHILOSOPHY
Help. And dance. I'm trying to get better at both.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've mainly couchsurfed with others or had coffee and potlucks with new people to the area, building up CS debt for when I have some living space of my own.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've played beach volleyball with twenty others during a CSer's birthday in Vancouver, met with new CS friends for karaoke while passing briefly through town, driven three hours into the wilderness for a meteor shower then driven back at 5am, introduced some to the awesomeness of contra dancing in North Carolina, shared a Thanksgiving dinner of Mexican food in Beijing, and generally have had sweet experiences.
The CS communities of Kansas City and Vancouver, BC, get props for their hospitality and fun.
