ABOUT ME

I was born and bred in Long Beach, California. After my first 18 years I went to college in Santa Cruz, California for 4 years. During that time I took a trip through Central/Eastern Europe that changed my life, and I have been abroad ever since graduation.

For 22 years I lived a few minutes away from the beach - and as I write this I am ironically at the furthest point away on earth from the ocean. The only "saudade" I feel is: family, LA weather, and surf. Other than that, I get a pretty good kick out of anything new and different.

PHILOSOPHY

A favorite from Andrew Zimmern: "The way to a culture's heart, is through its stomach."
