About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bridging cultures and encouraging mutual understanding - I think we have a long way to go on this front. On a more personal level, trying to be more energetic and optimistic.

ABOUT ME

Traveller and theatre director, originally from London, but have been moving around for the past few years. Currently I'm based in Tehran. I'm always interested in seeing new places and meeting people from all sorts of cultures, and I've often found the best type of journey is one where you don't know where you're headed.

PHILOSOPHY

Try to be peaceful. It normally helps.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

City events, meeting people, surfing, hosting. The usual, really.

Interests

I'm a real lover of the arts in general - film, theatre, books and visual arts are always good topics of conversation with me. When I'm alone, I'll almost always be reading. I love meeting people from interesting places and getting drunk with them, that's when all the cultural boundaries seem to matter less and less...

Music, Movies, and Books

Difficult novels and obscure arty films for the most part. But I'll read or watch pretty much anything that's not mind-numbingly commercial.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in the mountains is always pretty amazing, but almost anything can be amazing if seen with a good attitude and an openness to the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been a teacher of English and drama at various times, with special emphasis on speaking and self-presentation skills. I still teach English both commercially and voluntarily.

I can help you with things like gardening, ecological projects, basic business planning and financial advice. I've also travelled and lived in quite a few places, so feel free to ask me for travel tips!

I'm really interested to learn more from people involved in community projects, as I think we should be more aware of that side of life - groups for peace, for understanding one another, for sharing life more sustainably.
