Overview
About Me
I'm a full time nomad looking for interesting experiences. I work remotely as a software engineer and recently launched a supplement business called Hijack Health.
I reinvent myself a lot. Classically trained biochemist, managed an orchard and farm stand for a while, ran a gutter company, taught science in after school programs, gotten rid of all my possessions a few times.
I dress like a spiderman supervillain. Obnoxious morning person. Hail Satan.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interests
My passion is finding ways to be happy, healthy, and strong. I've studied traditional medicine from all over the world and tried to combine them with allopathy, figuring out ways to take control of my own wellbeing, hence my company's name Hijack Health (get in the driver's seat!). I'm pretty good with technology but it's something I do mostly because it's important in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music! I like it. I've been learning piano and accordion, played classical flute for a while. My favorite band is Murder By Death...it's, like...space western. Also really like metal, jazz, and whatever The National is. Amanda Palmer, some electronica, mostly templestep varieties. Love world music and would like to learn more of it, especially Slavic.
I recently discovered something called Netflix Netflix. It's alternate dimension TV. You just look at a blank screen, brick wall, whatever, and you tune into other dimensions, and see whatever you want. Watched a great show with ostriches showing up in the stands at a golf tournament, ruining everything.
Favorite book is Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Generally very into African literature. God's Bits of Wood, Season of Migration to the North, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Submerged myself in ice water for 10 minutes. So good.
Teach, Learn, Share
Love all kinds of movement art--fire spinning, acrobatics, tai chi, martial arts, yoga. Natural medicine, meditation, and the like are things I share compulsively.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I make potions and do a lot of wellness coaching. By potions I mean herbal extracts and supplements combined into tasty things with whimsical names that do things like prevent hangovers, make you stronger, give you energy, make you sleep better, or cure hunger headaches. And by wellness coaching I mean these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, none of this is intended to cure, diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease or condition.
