About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet new people, try new food, do new things, discover new music, visit new places and learn about new cultures.

ABOUT ME

Traveling has given me a whole new perspective on life. One I hope to share with other like-minded individuals, while also learning about their experiences. There's a quote I've always loved, which I originally saw in an Irish pub somewhere: "Life is a book, and those who don't travel never move beyond the first page."
I've heard about couch surfing for a while and it's all been very positive. I love the idea and would be more than willing to host people when I get home, but I'm yet to get past my natural aversion to accepting things from people so I haven't tried it out for myself before now. But here goes...

PHILOSOPHY

Good food, good wine and good company are all you need

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just joined, but I've always thought I'd be more comfortable hosting than surfing. I won't know till I try though.

Interests

Anything and everything that can hold my attention entirely, making me forget everything else for even a moment. Books, movies, games and sport. Anything that requires skill and/or concentration will keep me interested for hours on end. Playing pool is a favourite pass-time and I'll always love juggling because there is no room for any thought beyond catching that next ball.

Music, Movies, and Books

High Fidelity has got to be my all time, desert island, favourite movie of all time (or at least top five) ;)
I love reading sci-fi and fantasy, but I've also been enjoying the classics lately. Enders Game is still my favourite and most often read book and has been since high school.
Music: a very eclectic mix, but Amanda Palmer, formerly of the Dresden Dolls, is my most-loved performer. I even flew to America to see her as the emcee in Cabaret.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are so many it's hard to pick, especially in the last year, so I have to just say that traveling as a whole has been the most amazing experience of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think absolutely everyone should learn to juggle and I will happily teach anyone who's willing.
I love to cook for and with people. Any new recipes are much cherished and I always enjoy sharing my favourites. Food is love!
I have recently decided to take up music again after more years than I care to remember.
