ABOUT ME

Grew up in Brisbane, Australia. Moved to the capital of Australia, Canberra, and got an education. Spent some good time in Melbourne, and I've had the pleasure of a stay in Paris,and Istanbul. Now I'm back home in Brisbane for the moment.

PHILOSOPHY

Rationalist. Although having emotions is completely rational. A good narrative in life helps a lot.

I've always loved meeting people and helping them out, have helped and hosted plenty.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have had many people stay with me, and always loved looking after visitors, serving them up a warm meal and a blanket and pillow on the couch.

Interests

I start with food. I adore coffee: Italian, with creamy textured milk. Red wine and a cigarette/cigar to go along with it. Cooking is a must-learn skill for any human adult. I have a passion towards computers and tech stuff, 'specially Apple.

I don't read half as much as I should, but I do like movies.

Camping is pretty magical when you get the chance, love the push bike as a form of travel, big swimmer (where's the pool?). Politics & constitutions, especially about the US. After read Alan Greenspan's bio, I have more than a passing interest in economics now. Architecture; I do love a F.L.Wright. I was involved with Engineers Without Borders and Scouts. Yup, I'm trying to be a nice guy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Tarantino, Miyazaki & Wong Kar-wai create good stuff. I'm currently watching all the Bond films.

Tom Robbins, J.D. Salinger & D.F.Wallace can't be recommended enough. And I'll buy any copy of a Richard Brautigan book you have, as long as it's not one of those new 'collected short stories' prints.

Ohh, gotta love The Wire & The West Wing. Life on Mars & Flight of the Conchords are also grand.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The drive from L.A. to San Francisco along Route 1 was incredible. Camping throughout Australia is amazing.
