About Me

Hi! My name's Stu and I'm a playwright from Australia. So far I've had the privilege of living in some amazing cities (Prague, Turin, Melbourne) and I've travelled much of Europe. I love to write, act, and sometimes I even try to be funny. I hope to meet you soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To connect with other vagabonds, poets, and dreamers. To make friends and to visit new places. :) To seek new experiences and to see the world through the eyes of locals and travellers in the places I visit. I hope to impart whatever I've learnt so far in my life with others too. :)
I truly believe in living life guided by intuition. I believe the universe will guide me to where I'm meant to be and when I'm meant to be there. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything from Michael Jackson, to David Bowie, to Jeff Buckley, to Irish folk music, to Italian pop music, to Blues music, jazz music ... well, you get the idea. My favourite novel is The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (Douglas Adams), followed closely by the Count of Monte Christo (Alexandre Dumas) and a little-known book called Moonfleet (J. Meade Falkner). I also admire the writings of Milan Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Franz Kafka to name a few. I enjoy mostly all types of music, film, and literature genres. I have eclectic tastes! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Perhaps my most memorable and certainly very magical experience in Europe thus far has to be attending Carnevale in Venice. It was such a vivid and somewhat spontaneous experience. To sum Venice carnevale up, everyone dons masks, people throw confetti in the streets, and music is played in every square and on every street corner. I'll never forget it!
In Czechia (where I lived for 6 years) my favourite experience would have to be writing and acting in my own original theatre play at the Prague Fringe Festival. It was an amazing experience to not only go to a festival like the Prague Fringe but to be an actual participant.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to teach what I know about writing, English, acting, visual art, and whatever else. I know some Czech, and some basic Italian and would love to improve my language skills.
