ABOUT ME
I've returned to university for a PhD after the second of a couple of years out travelling and living. I love being back in education, and would love to share the beautiful city that is Cambridge with others. I'm often quite busy but happy to be distracted by the opportunity to meet someone interesting.
PHILOSOPHY
Everything will turn out OK, so there's no real need to worry too much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've done a bit of hosting, although not recently. I've also had some great coffee/short meetups with surfers from all over.
I just wish I had more time to travel but CS is a good way to live vicariously through those one meets.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Mainly folk, a lot of it British. Also some soft and less-soft rock. I have a soft spot for female vocalists with great voices.
Books: I don't read as much as I would like to and haven't managed to do so since starting Uni. Maybe finishing Uni will solve that. Pretty keen on the likes of Herman Hesse, Mervyn Peake, Paul Gallico and so forth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took part in the 2009 World Solar Challenge, a 3000km race for solar-powered cars from Darwin to Adelaide. The most amazing part was the way all the teams helped each other out and pitched in when someone had a problem despite competing against each other
Teach, Learn, Share
I've got a pretty good practical skill base, which I'm happy to share if desired. I can teach a bit of sailing. Other than that I only have life experience to share.
