About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Doing a round the world motorbike ride

ABOUT ME

Well hello, I'm Stuart, from Richmond in England and am fulfilling a long term ambition by doing a round-the-world motorcycle ride. I love travelling ever since I read Michael Palin's books many years ago and after a brilliant time motorcycling and couch-surfing around Europe last summer, I can't wait to meet more new fantastic people. I'm very open minded and am a geographer by education. I enjoy as much the small details of peoples lives and interests as seeing churches, rivers and the touristy things, nice though they are.

PHILOSOPHY

"Convenience is no subsitute for love". That sounds like a relationship thing, but I think it stands for life too, you get so little time here, there's no point doing something just because its easy and convenient - whatever it is that gets you out of bed in the morning, family, travel, whatever, give it your best all the time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted couchsurfers although not so many lately as I have been living in a house that has no spare space at all. I love couch surfing on my travels as they are the experiences I remember most, after all, no mountain, building or sight can compare to the warmth and friendliness of new friends you meet 'on the road'.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very limited so far, but have enjoyed it so much I hope to add to this a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekked to Machu Pichu and my legs nearly fell off, but incredibly well worth it but now I'm now doing a round the world motorbike ride which has been my dream for years.

Teach, Learn, Share

The truly wild at heart know that sunrises over the Sahara, sunsets over Timbuktu and absinthe stained adventures on intriguing foreign shores are all shoddy, second-hand subsitutes for love.
