To see a bit of my home region, down under, and to share it with Lenka. We will be travelling in Australia and New Zealand for 2 months.

ABOUT ME

Satya - Australian, 36 / Lenka - Slovakian, 35

Easy going couple who enjoy food, sunshine, laughter, ..good times. We have both been working in hospitality and tourism for a number of years and have a dream to operate our own small guesthouse / farm at some point.

Food is important to us, and we see organic as a necessity in our lives, but it is still not always easy to access. Connection to the world and land around us has become something foreign, and we want to, at least for ourselves, get some of that connection back.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have been long time, non-official couch surfers, staying with friends or friends of friends on their couch...or camping in our tent in random places. Likewise when we can we offer the same hospitality.

Unfortunately right now we don't have a couch to offer but as soon as we do, it will be open to new friends from the Couchsurfing world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All great so far! Have met some amazing people, enjoyed great food and laughter together, exchanged knowledge and gained insights into places we probably would never have known.

Movies - always ready for a good movie. Unfortunately there is so much junk out there today and so much money being wasted on it. What happened to simple plots about real life, without the big effects? It still exists but harder to find.

Music - a lot, but most recently the good stuff now called 'oldies'. Queen, The Stones, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Beatles, Joy Division, The Cure, Bob Marley etc. But some great 'new' stuff around too, Arcade Fire, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Air, ..

Real food means a lot to us - it makes us alive, it bonds us and heals us. We like to grow our food and thus feeling closer to it. We would like to learn how to make cheese and how to take care of animals.
