Live life to the fullest!
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Charlotte so I know it well. I have seen the city change tremendously over the years. I took several university classes under the head of the local Historic Landmarks Commission so I am very familiar with Charlotte's history. Actually, I love history in general! My friends would say that I am open minded, very personable and that I like to laugh a lot! They would also say that I enjoy meeting and interacting with other people. I have many diverse interests and enjoy many different activities.
PHILOSOPHY
The meaning of life is in the living of it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed a few times and I have accommodated several surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with host in Asheville several times and it was great! He was a great host and really made us feel welcome.
Interests
I love different flavors so I am into anything that tastes good! I love all variety of food and drinks. I enjoy a good glass of wine but I like beer even better because of its great range of flavor characteristics. I am definitely into the booming craft beer scene in the USA! As a result, I know most of the people related to the craft beer scene in this area. I also belong to a home brew club and even brew my own beer! I love live music and go to see bands quite often. Other things I enjoy: learning about history, watching movies, NFL football, college basketball, reading and following current events.

Music, Movies, and Books
For music I like classic rock, 70s, 80, 90s, grunge, heavy metal (old school like AC/DC, Metallica etc.) and even bluegrass. I like seeing nearly any type of music live. For movies, I like comedies, dramas, sci-fi, horror and documentaries. I read mostly non-fiction, however, I read novels occasionally especially the classics. Recently, I have read several books about the economy, the home mortgage crisis and big financial meltdown. They were very disturbing. I have a major interest in the Second World War and recently I have read several books on the American Revolution.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent some time in England and I loved it. I loved the pubs, museums, history and parks. I went to Italy many years ago and had a great time! I stayed in a small town on the northern tip of Sardinia. The food was awesome and we walked every where we went. The lifestyle was quite different than the US. I went to India for a friend's Hindu wedding many years ago and was able to see it as a native. I went to many areas where they had never seen a foreigner in their lives. In many areas, small children would just come up to observe me. I rode the public transportation and interacted with ordinary Indian citizens. Of course, a Hindu wedding is quite the spectacle! Indonesia was also very fascinating. The people were very friendly, the food was awesome and the natural beauty was stunning!
