About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To boldly go where man has gone and not gone before!

ABOUT ME

I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer ( http://www.peacecorps.gov/ ) serving in the Philippines...I'm on my third year here. I train one teacher on a regular basis on basic computer teaching skills. Right now we're doing computer programming basics and database management.

I have a golden retriever named Cami and I also take care of my girlfriend's golden lab Chloey. Both are a handfull but in a good way!

For Filipinos out there I'm fairly advanced in Ilocano and intermediate in Tagalog. I took a couple quarters of Chinese which I feel the need to freshen up on. Always looking for new languages to learn!

I was born in Australia but quickly moved to the States when I was only 1ish :). Still my Australian patriotism far outshines my American patriotism on most days. I lived in Walnut Creek, California till I was seven and then grew up in Spokane, Washington which I consider my hometown.

I enjoy playing soccer and watching practically every other sport. March Madness is coming up! Go Zags!

I'm a music fiend and enjoy electronic music the most but I've been known to indulge myself with pop when it's catchy enough.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal goal is to visit and meet people from every region of the world before I croak. I'll pursue a career that allows me to do that and also make long term decisions in order to further develop that goal. Hopefully CS will be a valuable tool along the way :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new but since I don't really have good accommodations for people, all I can provide is good sound travel advice for foreigners visiting various places in Northern Luzon. And of course this can be done in person or over the net! :) I've been almost everywhere there is to go except Pagudpud!

As far as books, and movies go. I like adventure and action books. Movies I enjoy movies that make you think and are not totally predictable. Or are innovative in some way. So even though Avatar was predictable to a point I still liked it a lot because it was well done and pushed the boundaries quite a bit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Eating dog in many different ways is interesting...

Enjoying the peacefulness Sagada can offer after suffering through serious noise pollution in Manila!
