About Me

Please read my profile if you send out a couchsurf request. I can tell if you haven't. I will proceed to not give a reason why I can't host you if I notice you haven't read my profile.

- We are both quite busy people so we might not have time to show you around after work or on weekends.

- We are non-smokers and would highly appreciate it if you were too.

- We are both vegans.

- Interested in foreign languages, psychology, sustainability topics, nutrition and current world affairs.

- I really love talking to multilingual people (especially the ones who have good knowledge of the same languages that I speak).

- I love amusement/theme parks. Roller coasters and other thrill rides are awesome.

- I have my point of view in certain issues but I am also convincible (no one can convince me to believe in a deity, though).

- Exchanging life stories and experiences is one of the things I like most.

I try to look positive on life but it does not always comply with my surroundings since there are quite a few things that bother me about society and life that are hard to ignore. People should respect each other and be friendly towards one another because you never know what this person has gone through in their life. Nevertheless, my tolerance also has its limits.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started couchsurfing in 2012 with a friend who had done it once before and I was positively surprised of how well this can work. In 2015 I started to host as well since it was the first time I had the possibilty to do so. It was the right decision and I would love to continue on CS as long as I can to meet interesting people from all over the world.

Interests

I am really interested in people's life stories and talking in English, French, German or Spanish since I am keen on practising my language skills.
I spent my entire youth doing track and field on a competitive level meaning 4-6 times of practice a week but I had to quit due to my university studies. Love to watch track meets, though, especially when the athletes are clean (= not doped). As a sport, I usually still run 1-2 times a week, play tennis and go to the gym.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love watching inspiring movies and movies that make you want to be part of or that let you delve into another reality. And I also love to watch documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done quite a few awesome things in my life but the most memorable:
- participating at several German National Championships with the relay between 2009 and 2011
- spending 10 months in a host family in the United States and practice Cross Country and Track and Field
- graduating from school and university
- white-water rafting (want to do it more often!)
- travelling for three weeks along the Eastern and Southern coast of Spain in 2012
- my first solo backpacking trip to Mexico and Central America in 2019
- creating a vocabulary learning app with my partner
- getting to know and feel what real love is
Other than that the best moments in life I didn't spend alone. The people that like me and that I like best made them so special.

Teach, Learn, Share

When one door of happiness closes, another opens. But often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
- Helen Keller

Your talent determines what you can do.
Your motivation determines how much you are willing to do.
Your attitude determines how well you do it.
