Hi! I'm Suchitra. I'm living in Sydney with my husband and 4-year-old son. We are originally from India and moved to Australia 4 months ago. We lived in Manchester, England for the last 5 years.

We are vegetarian (no meat, no fish, no eggs, no mushroom!) and we do not drink alcohol. We live in a rented 1 bedroom flat. There is space in our living room for 2 people. Please do not bring alcohol while you are staying with us.

I like photographing families, birds and buildings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is difficult to travel with a young child. I'm here on Couchsurfing to get to know travellers from all over the world and learn about their home country and maybe a few words in their language. This way I can keep myself busy when my husband is at work and maybe pass on something interesting to my son.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to teach underprivileged children from villages in India. I did this via online classes on Skype.

I can teach vegetarian Indian cooking. I can share my basic knowledge of photography. I can share some (very basic) knowledge of loom knitting.
