À propos de moi

I am a friendly and clean individual, who loves to make connections, integrate into communities, and laugh. Some of my interests/hobbies: art and installation, welding, music (both listening to and playing), playing pool, and meeting new folks.. I am an avid lover of the outdoors, hotsprings, snow, and rivers.

I have been running an art and fabrication business for the past 4 years, making everything from 42' tall rideable chaotic pendulums to outfitting a bus to be a mobile classroom. My girlfriend Ilya and I are currently. moving up to Columbus for a 6month job building out an immersive art venue.

During my college experience I lived in the Trailer Park at UCSC. This community opened me up to the possibilities that community offers. The connections I have made there will definitely last through my life, and I hope that as I continue on my life's journey, I will keep finding such beautiful people and places.

I graduated from UCSC in 2010 in art and physics/astrophysics. I have worked in a variety of mediums including paint, print, installation and sculpture. My main focus is in the intersection between art and physics/mathematics. Displayted through sculptural form, I try to convey concepts that are often hidden or inaccessagle to the public eye.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has been a way to integrate into a new town, to meet interesting folks, and make new friends. It has given me the opportunity to travel where I may not have been able to, and to see the parts of cities which are hard to access when you are just visiting.

As I mentioned above, my girlfriend Ilya, her lazy and loving 7yo lab pupper, I are moving up to Columbus to build out an immersive art venue (similar to MeowWolf). We are looking for a place to land to get our footing in the town, and meet some folks along the way. We will be renting a house ASAP, but we land in early June and need a place to stay.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I built out a 40' MUNI bus into a mobile classroom for at risk youth. The idea is that if students needed to cross gang lines to get to school, they often did not show up. To bring the classroom to them was to give them an opportunity to learn where there was not before.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Art and welding, playing music, swapping adventure stories are all wonderful ways to pass the time.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I love to cook, and fancy myself a good chef. I help keep a place clean, and will chip in with what needs to be done around the house. As we are looking for 2-4 week stay, we would be happy to chip in on rent and utilities.
