About Me

I am a booklover, and interested in music, art, and all aspects of health, body, mind and spirit. I am training to be a Focusing teacher, an inner awareness dialogue practice. My husband and I own a manufacturing business, and we export overseas, as well as selling in Australia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am attending a couple of conferences in the USA in September and October, and would like to find somewhere to stay in New York and Boston in that period.

My husband and I are interested in meeting new people, discussing ideas, and experiencing a broad range of life's offerings.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an eclectic reader, and belong to a book club. The most interesting books I have read recently is 'We Need New Names', by No Violet Bulawayo, and 'Being Mortal', by Atul Gawande.

I like some mainstream movie 'fluff', and also am fond of alternative movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I assisted my daughter to give birth to our grandson - an exceptional experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am learning to teach Focusing, a method developed by American psychologist and philosopher Eugene Gendlin. I believe, as American Zen Buddhist teacher Cheri Huber says, that 'Inner peace = world peace'. Many years ago I taught English and History at secondary school.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Our large family home is in the southern Sydney suburb of Oatley, 20 minutes by train from the city centre. It is a 20 minute walk to the train station.

Our home backs on to the Georges River, , with amazing, and tranquill 180 degree views overlooking the river and surrounding bush. We have a lot of bird life in our natural setting - kookaburras, lorikeets, butcher birds etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Fiji, France, Malta, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
