About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Current mission is to really enjoy life and travel and meet people from all walks of life, from different parts of the world. To spread the love~

ABOUT ME

I love meeting people as cliched as it sounds.

PHILOSOPHY

Always be proud of what you do and never do what you're not gonna be proud of.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Started when I HAD to satisfy my urge to see the world with two empty pockets :P

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm also a member of Hospitality Club. My username is sueanne and I've met so many beautiful people while traveling (you guys are cool!!). Like what they say, once you start, you can't stop.

Interests

I'm a culture vulture, especially of European art and classical music. I love reading when I'm not travelling. And I also love hanging out with my friends :) And just trying out different different stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite books include anything from Donald Miller (he's super funny and sometimes puts humanity back into Christianity), Malcom Gladwell (he's SO brilliant), I love love love Harry Potter (absolutely!!), Lord of the Rings, The Little Prince, writings of Goethe and Oscar Wilde and so so so much more. I absolutely enjoy classical music, indie rock, Brit pop rock, jazz, a bit of everything I suppose :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To quit my job, fly to Japan where I absolutely know no one, don't speak their language and take up a job which I had absolutely zero experience in. I loved every bit of it and will do it again.

Teach, Learn, Share

A documentary taught me about something which I learned about the real state of our poor earth and so I'm sharing this:

I give the documentary 'An Inconvenient Truth' (by Davis Guggenheim, featuring Al Gore) a 5-star rating not because it has an Oscar-winning cinematography or a sizzling chase sequence of naked and good looking people. It has neither. But it deserves the highest rating because of the blatant 'inconvenient' truth that is really happening. Global warming isn't something we don't already know (anyone who's been through high school should know that) but it's something that's been highly misconstrued, postponed and played down. And I think this documentary featuring Al Gore is most timely when the world is fighting one another, not knowing that what would cause mass destruction isn't exactly of flesh and blood, or machine and bio-weaponry. You probably won't care because 50 years down the road, you're dead. Maybe you're right and it's for the better. I mean who wants to be around to see our children malnourished and melting due to over intense infra-red?

Or.

Maybe, just maybe, there's something which you and I can do, no matter how insignificant it may seem (like posting this message onto your blogs, mass mails, social network sites and urge participation) because a little really really does go a long way (see if you watch this show, you'd know what I'm talking about).

So, pass the love. Awareness is the first step to recovery. Please go watch it.
