About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet people from all over the world; learn about different cultures; increase international, (and interpersonal) brotherly love and affection; work together to make the world a better place!
ABOUT ME
I am a happy, friendly, fun-loving person. I love to laugh and make new friends. Basically I am interested in PEOPLE (hence the interest in Psychology and Religion) and everything they do. I want to meet people, to learn about both individuals and society. Right now I am living/traveling in Italy (a long way from home in distance and culturally). I am interested in broadening my world view. As I grew up in a less than conventional family/community, i am very open-minded, very eager to hear about other peoples' stories and lives.
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe Diem: Seize the Day! Life is short and it is important to take chances in order to fill it with as many experiences (good and bad) as possible. I need to constantly remind myself to take risks: living in a safe little box is not really living at all, it is just dying a little bit slower.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As of right now I do not have my own apartment or house so I am not able to host people. But I fully intend to have a couch when I return to California. Right now, I simply want to meet as many people as possible. I believe that in the 21st century, we, the people on this planet, need to work together to improve our world, our international relationships. I believe that the best way to encourage love and friendship between countries and peoples is to have individuals travel, to learn about other cultures, to meet people as individuals, not stereotypes, and to take responsibility for ones own social education.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couch surfing experience was in Ferarra, Italy. I went with my good friend heather (another member) This was before i registered with CS and this experience inspired me to to join. Our host was so friendly, so helpful and kind and wonderful that all i could hope for was to create the same amazing experience for other surfers in the future.
I am excited to meet other such amazing individuals, to expand my network and increase my number of friendships and experiences.
Interests
I am interested in many things...pretty much everything actually. In particular Music, all kinds but especially new kinds that i have not yet heard; Art, especially modern/contemporary and graffiti. Also football (the real kind, not the "american" kind), food (i love eating and cooking).

Favorite movies: Fight Club, V for Vendetta, Amelie, Office Space, anything funny but not too stupid, general action, all the batman movies...etc.
Books: the trashy romance novels are fun; also LOLITA, THE GREAT GATSBY, GOD OF SMALL THINGS, HISTORY OF SEXUALITY PART ONE (Foucault is a recent, small obsession)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 17 I spent 24 hours in the wilderness with just a tin can and some matches. It was the first time i was really ALONE. But i survived (in all senses of the word) and learned so much about myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
Everyone has something to offer, even if what that something is is unclear at first. I am still waiting to figure out my part and I am excited to learn from everyone I meet.
