About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding work that combines business and building

ABOUT ME

Dual Swiss/American citizen. Interested in entrepreneurship and design. I love to travel and have lived in the US, Mexico, Switzerland and the Sudan. I am currently settled in Denver, contemplating getting serious about my own architecture business.

PHILOSOPHY

Find a need and fill it.....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am renting part of someone else's house now, so I can't host at the moment, but I am more than willing to meet for coffee or lunch. I am just getting into Couchsurfing and hope to try out a few more couches in the places I want to go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It has been great so far. Looks like lots of interesting people bent on as much travel as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I like foreign horror movies, but there are so few good ones (anything by Guillermo del Toro is usually a good show). Mexican films like Amores Perros, independent films, and documentaries are also great.

I will listen to any kind of music.

Books: Nonfiction books about disaster and chaos from Enron to the Wall Street collapse to the Congo.
I am currently writing a book based on my blog and pictures from Sudan and Kenya.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught business classes to local entrepreneurs in South Sudan. Saw churches carved out of stone in Ethiopia. Walked the Great Wall of China. Visited a refugee camp in Kenya and performed a survey of the businesses refugees run.

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to finally learn how to speak Spanish. I can speak German very well with almost a perfect Swiss accent. I'm mainly good at project managing large and complicated construction projects, but I'm not sure how useful that is to anyone given the current economy! I once got certified as a Dog Behavior Specialist and answered questions about problem pets via email for a shelter.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Namibia, Panama, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, United Kingdom, United States
