Overview
About Me
Keep growing every day. Learning to be conscious, to be present.
Completed a B.A. in Hispanic Language and Literature. Started an M.A. in Linguistics; not interested in completing it, for now. Would love to go to Law School. I'm a birth and postpartum doula, have worked in customer service, over-the-phone interpretation (currently do this from home as well), and also a French teacher.
I'm currently an entrepreneur on the planning phase of a small business which will be an artisan pasta/pizza food truck using local/organic ingredients whenever available. Doing a lot of work in that direction; sometimes my schedule changes without prior notice in order to attend business-related meetings and/or courses (just for my guests' reference). Very interested in showing people the best the West side has to offer: food, love, places and people!
This is really old, somewhat-cheesy stuff I put up on CS when I first started here. I kinda like it: "My personal philosophy is that of constant learning. Life is only lived to learn, though being sure you'll never know it all. Seeking with hunger for that space where you can find a little bit more satisfaction from learning from somebody/something else. Learning like a child, never being afraid of asking. I am liberal, atheist, and tolerant to other people's thoughts. I am vegan, even though it's so difficult to keep up with this diet being so passionate about cooking and learning the new tendencies in culinary arts, etc."
Used to be vegan, not anymore, even though people who never knew me as vegan ask me all the time if I am. I'm into Classical French cuisine and Italian cuisine, and also traditional ferments (kombucha, sourdough pastries, homemade yogurt, cheese, kefir, fermented veggies), and traditional cooking (homemade preserves, homemade lard and tallow, local eggs, raw milk, gardening veggies, etc.)
Have two sons, Tribo and Sol, and a life partner, Alberto.
Can be a lover and a hater.
I'm also an atheist, and a hairy feminist! ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Visiting places not as a tourist, but as a traveler, and getting to know them from the perspective of the "intra-history", the people who live there everyday.
Haven't done much traveling myself, though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Old stuff I wrote on CS:
"1. Living in such a passive-people country like mine that has lived as a colony and chosen to stay like that for more than a century, it baffles you to watch a non-denominational political manifestation of more than 50,000 people against government budget cuts and policies.
2. The most amazing things I've seen are some scenery views in my country, Puerto Rico. The weather and geographical differences between one region and the next one, in such a small place.
3. I am also very touched by political, philosophical, human rights, globalization, and student movements all over the world. There's always something that impresses me about each of them, most recently Greece, Spain, Tunisia, Liberia, United States and Puerto Rico."
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach: Spanish, English, French, food science and cooking, fashion (used to be a fashionista even though I don't care to wear fashion and designer clothes anymore, still know the principles)
Want to learn: languages, more food, philosophy, Literature, mythology, history, geography, technology, business
What I Can Share with Hosts
food, and love, which is kind of a redundancy, and conversation ;)
