About Me

I consider myself a very eclectic person. I love cooking healthy food but I love baking cakes. I play the piano but I love house music. I like partying but also meditation. I lived in New York but I am from a small town in the countryside of Brazil… I believe that a good and fulfilling life is the result of diverse experiences, places and people. Everybody is special and we can always learn from each other. Life has its own wisdom so everything happens for a reason, and so are the people we meet in our path.

I am Brazilian but I moved to Australia in February 2018. I live in Brisbane and my next trip will be to New Zealand in April.

I am scorpio with ascendant in virgo, which means I can be wild and fun but also organised and practical. If you host me, I promise not to be a messy guest and try to help as much as I can while I am around.

I believe a picture is worth a thousand words so if you want feel free to check my instagram profile which is "sususieq".

Here it goes my LinkedIn profile as well:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

10 years ago I tried Air BnB for the first time and I loved it. I must say I liked even more when I was sharing the house with the host. Going to a different country and being able to get a local taste staying in a typical house other than a cold hotel was much more interesting. Since then, I never went back to hotels. I was on sabbatical for 6 months last year. I did Couchsurfing in many countries and I couldn’t have been more lucky. I met some wonderful people and I wanna be part of this community forever.

Movies: I love watching movies that make me cry, drama is my favorite genre so the sadder the better. Among them I could mention Almodovar and Woddy Allen movies (which are not exactly sad but they show life the way it is and that is why I like them), Cinema Paradiso, Into the Wild, Her, The Theory of Everything etc...

Books: Do for love, Women who run with wolves, all Osho books, all Alexander Lowen books, all Clarice Lispector books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived abroad by myself for the first time when I was 21 and I chose New York to be my home for one year.
I spent a month in a Osho community in the south of Brazil meditating and doing bioenergetics in the nature. I could not use the cell phone or eat meat for a month and it was great!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Portuguese, English and how to cook some Brazilian dishes and drinks (such as caipirinhas ;)
I would love to learn Italian or any other language. I also would love to learn about the history of the cities I visit.
I can share my experience as a Brazilian architect and carioca.

What I Can Share with Hosts

At the moment I can't host anyone because I share my place with another person who is not familiar with Couchsurfing. In the future, I am planning to get my own place and I will be more than happy to host.
