About Me
你好!Hi! Hola!
My name is Suiyang Liao. I was born and raised in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province of China.
After I finished my high school, I went to college in Beijing for my undergraduate education. I graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a second degree as Bachelor of Management.
I have always been keeping an open mind towards new things and willing to make friends from all likes!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, you'd better interpret this question as "Why NOT".
One of the biggest excitements for travelling is to immerse myself into the local culture and talk with someone who actually lives there, and even better, to make friends with them. So why not?
And of course, this is probably the best solution for an unemployed graduated bachelor, who is going to be economically independent but also has a never-settled heart for the world unknown. Probably, five years from now, the passion will be gone and I am afraid of that. No matter what, do it when I have nothing to lose. So why not?
The world can be chaotic as the media shows. But I still have faith in people. If there is one place in the world for me to catch a glimpse of the merit of human being, your couches and my couch might be one of them. So why not?

Music, Movies, and Books
I have got my Beatlemania recently. And it may take a long while to recover. But I would rather not. Some of them just jumped into my mind: A Day in Life. While My Guitar Gently Weeps. In My Life. Here Comes the Sun.
And of course, the Eagles. Hotel California, surely, we all love it. Others such as Desperado and Doolin-Dalton. Adam Levine's Lost Stars is in my personal favorite in 2016.
For Chinese singer, I would say Jonanthan Lee.
I am a huge fan of the moving pictures. But unlike most of the fans, I do not have good volumne of watching. Instead, I would dig very deep into the classic ones. Richard Linklater's three Befores are my all-time best romantic movies. So many other to talk about and I dont want to be unfair to ignore any. So let's meet and talk.
For books, Alain de Botton is an author who has massive knowledge of history, art and religion etc. Just finished reading his The Anxiety of Status. 84, Charing Cross Road is beautiful as well. I have a list of books to read. I will be glad to share with you!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just stopped for a minute when choosing between publishing journal articles and organizing a graduation party.
Ok, the latter.
I was in the program of the second degree of management of my undergraduate university. More than 150 students in this program are of all professional backgrounds. Upon graduation, I felt I had to catch the opportunity to do something so that we could be better connected. Looking back, it was a daring move to send all my classmates an email and somehow led a volunteering team to organize the party.
I felt amazing since I overcame my fear of being social and break the nerd stereotype of an engineering student.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe I have a bunch of useless but maybe interesting skills and several hobbies, at which I can not call myself an expert, but I would be happy to share what I know with my friends.
Learn! Yes! I feel exciting about things I don't know and I am always eager to learn from the people around me.
Let's share our life stories, my friends!
Let's meet in the spiritual world!
And don'd forget, if you come to my place, mi casa es su casa!
