About Me

I was born and brought up in New York City, until I went to a minimalist boarding school in rural India for 6 years (no phones, computers or TV) . Witnessing both ends - the urbanity of NYC to agrarian life of India - has really shaped my perspective. I've also lived in Champaign, IL, Palo Alto, CA and Leuven, Belgium.

In my former life, I was a software engineer and product manager at Google in NYC. I recently quit to start a company to help people build healthy habits. Read about my thought process on my blog: https://suketk.com/why-i-quit-google

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The three things I care about are relationships, experiences and making the world a better place. Couchsurfing has all three - the unique experience of staying at your home and developing a meaningful connection by learning about each other's life stories, ultimately arriving at a better understanding of the human condition.

Interests

Writing - I recently started a blog about my principles for an intentional life. https://suketk.com

Hiking - I'm doing a 30 day cross-country train trip with my dad to visit 8 national parks!

Math and computer science - Fun fact, I independently rediscovered Euler's constant in high school.

Basketball - I participate in a 125 person tournament every year. I'm also a huge fan of the NBA.

Standup comedy - Favorite comedians are Louis CK, Dave Chapelle, James Acaster, Daniel Sloss, Nate Bargatze. On my bucket list is to be a professional comedian.

Photography - Recently got into film photography using a Pentax K1000. Vintage is the way to go, they don't make stuff like they used to...
