About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cover every inch of ground under the sun before I die

ABOUT ME

Well... I'm a gypsy soul and I live for the journey. Travelling is one thing that makes me feel truly alive. Seeing new places, meeting new people, trying out new things --- that's what makes life worth it. To be honest, I'm not a very "social" person. I guess I'm a little shy. But it's my weakness as well as my strength. It makes me a good listener -- and most people talk to me. I've met some truly amazing people in my travels --- and the best part of it all is that their memories stay with you long after you've forgotten the wonder of a place. Because it's the people who maketh a place. And it's my dream to meet as many kindred souls as I can.
Apart from travelling, I find a lot of joy in reading, cooking & gardening (if you can call tending to a dozen flower pots that).

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a journey. And we're fellow travellers who will have to walk into the horizon in the end, whether you like it or not. So, make the most of it while you can. Try to be good, kind and generous. Embrace the hurts -- because they always, always make you stronger. In the end, it's simply worth it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Yet to get the ticker going...

Interests

Journeying.
Meeting new people with an open mind (esp. non-jerks)
Great food.
Learning about other cultures.
I'm not good at sports but I still have to try every non-gross adventure sports. Parasailing- check. Snorkelling-check. Winf=ding baby boa around neck- check (that COUNTS).
Most of all perhaps, being privileged to listen to stories. Everyone has their own story. And I'm willing to listen to most.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read fiction mostly, & usually not thrillers or mush. Got too many favourites to list. I also love reading memoirs.
I try to stay away from dark/depressing movies. Which accounts for not watching many of the very famous flicks. But I love watching movies!
I'm also very interested in theatre.
Music -- well I listen to whatever comes my way but I'm anything but a music enthusiast. Unless you can hand me a Sinatra. Archaic. I know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ummm... well I found so many things amazing. But if you ask me to choose one thing till date -- it will be my snorkelling experience in Fiji. I don't swim I(well, I've sort of learnt to float now)and I'd gone with a diver. The sheer beauty, the teeming colours, and the silence --- I never imagined it was so so beautiful under the waters. Seeing it on Tv never prepares you for that sensory wonder. I felt blessed to have been able to see that.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach? I don't know if I qualify in anything ... it's for others to find out what they can learn from me, isn't it?
I'm willing to learn about anything and everything you can tell me. From your last party to your last cuisine disaster to travel stories.
In return of course, I share my own experiences & stories. Nothing beats sharing, does it?
