Overview
About Me
I was born and grew up in Seoul, South Korea but was born global (just like multinational companies) who simply loves exploring the world. in a global sense. Since an age of 8, I traveled over 20 countries and spent a year in American high school to sharpen my English proficiency and ambition to the world's large opportunities.
Keeping my passion and action for global experiences, I ended up being offered a place in the University of Bath which one of the best universities in United Kingdom. I am content I can continue my study on management strategy and sustainable growth which are one of my biggest academic interests in the present. My academic dream is to develop a theoretical model of small businesses' success factors. My entrepreneurial dream, well is to put the theory into action.
I define myself as an entrepreneurial artist at the same time. I am a lover of Japanese fashion, culture and anime and my passion toward Japanese' sub culture ultimately drove me to the real business. I ran my online select shop for three years (yes, it survived with a plenty of profit!) and curated clothing of unique fashion styles from China and Japan. Back then, I took a role of photographer, model, content creator and more. (My portfolio are largely available by searching "dependy" on Facebook or Instagram :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I signed in CS for the first time when I was visiting the States from 9th to 18th, February, 2015. I had beautiful memories with a wonderful host in Los Angeles. Couchsurfing is one of the greatest startup platforms too. I love it.
Interests
I used to dream being a cartoonist when I was little. I love to paint, watch concerts and musical, write, play anime / musical / old pop songs with piano, and I love to sing. I love talking about music, bands, instruments, arts, movies and all other human creations.

Music, Movies, and Books
Japanaese artists -- Marina (Girls' Dead Monster), Kalafina, LiSA & Vocaloid
Musicals -- Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Chicago, my favorite "Jekyll and Hyde" & "Jesus Christ Superstar"
Khaled Hoseini(The Kite Runner), George Orwell (Animal Farm, 1984), Hermann Hesse (Unterm Rad, Narziß goldmund), Murakami Haruki (海邊のカフカ, 1Q84, etc.), F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gastby. The movie is also one of my favorites.)
Inception, Pacific Rim, Moulin Rouge, Amadeus, Edward the Scissorshand & EVERY SINGLE DISNEY MASTERPIECES.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have organized things that could not have been done without my start. I established a fund to help construct a school at small Cambodian Village and help high school students enter college. I organized anime music festival where 500 people Korea nationwide flocked to see. I sang there wearing Iwasawa (from Angel Beats) costume. I started up my own business in the age of 23. My motto is to try everything that makes value and avoid living a mundane life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share the culture and life of Korea as much as you want. But I love speaking in English better and I am ready to talk abundantly about the world of business management, marketing and contents.
If you like artistic stuffs, I can draw for you. I can play instrument or play an impromptu ... just ask for something artistic :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Since I work for a company but at the same time a student of Korea’s (presumably) most prestigious university, I can share some (hopefully) interesting stories about Korea’s education, culture, social issues and people’s way of thinking.
