About Me
Hi, I am from Kazakhstan. Probably you would ask what is Kazakh? Imagine an Asian who is officially considered white and speaks Russian but believed to be Muslim and with Jewish surname... This is Kazakh. However, all of it just a stereotype (with Borat toegether).
I am Kazakh and I speak fluent Kazakh, Russian, English and Turkish. I am pro-green (recycle whatever you can or donate), feminist, queer, a beginner scientist in Molecular and Cell Biology, a cyclist and I play on an instrument called homus. I have been to more than 10 countries and I want to broaden this list.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been to more than 10 countries based on my studies or job. I started travelling when I was 12 and I was sent to Italy for a Spring Break. There I understood that traveling helps you broaden your mind, breaks stereotypes and how many different lives you lived, so many times you make yourself a human being. When I visit different countries, the first thing I ask is a local history, then contemporary arts, and then science. Of course, I am not a nerd who only likes to study. I really like joining local bars and clubs.
Couchsurfing helps me achieve my goals in my travels ^_^

Actually, I listen everything...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh, I have one story to share. I did the first openly feminist seminars at my university. It was very hard, becuase people in Kazakhstan undestands 'feminist' as "she will become lesbian", or "she never marries", or "only ugly girls are feminists"... So demonized by people's mind in the own way. However, I just invited the top feminist activists to my university (even if they are openly against our government - I would say it is extreme in autocracy). They just showed themselves and the voices of women in Kazakhstan. Under the umbrella of feminism, I even could do a seminar on transfeminism, queer feminism and radical anarchal feminism. I just wanted to show that out of the walls of my university, the life is really hard for women, and we should fight for it together.
People accepted my "breach in the wall" and now feminist activity or ideas is just a regular thing what we can officially talk about (and recognized!).
Teach, Learn, Share
So I am a bilogist, I also like to study spiritual shamanic rituals of my tribe Suan (yes, we still pray to the old tree), I like to study history, and I am also into sharing stuff.
Okay, let's forget about my experience and knowledge... I can cook for you a real Russian Borshch and Kazakh Ashygan Koje! Do you want to try?
