About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life to the fullest, without fear and without regrets

ABOUT ME

I LOVE life, and feel so incredibly fortunate for all the wonderful opportunities that this world has offered me; all the places I've seen, so many unforgettable experiences, and all the marvelous people I've met along the way. I went about 8 years without living in the same place for more than 6 months at a time, and though I think I'll always be afflicted by an acute case of wanderlust, I've finally found in Portland a place that I'm happy to call home.
:o)
I love meeting other travelers and tapping into that fantastic vagabond energy, and would be honored to show any and all visitors around this lovely city that I call home!

PHILOSOPHY

Muere lentamente quien no viaja,
quien no lee,
quien no oye música,
quien no encuentra gracia en sí mismo.
Muere lentamente
quien destruye su amor propio,
quien no se deja ayudar.
Muere lentamente
quien se transforma en esclavo del hábito
repitiendo todos los días los mismos
trayectos,
¡Vive hoy!
¡Arriesga hoy!
¡Hazlo hoy!
¡No te dejes morir lentamente!
¡NO TE IMPIDAS SER FELIZ!
-Pablo Neruda

Interests

I´ve learned not to take my presence on this planet for granted, and to genuinely appreciate all the awesome and sometimes less-than-awesome stuff that life on earth entails. I'm stoked to try my hand at just about any opportunity that presents itself:oD I play soccer compulsively. I have a strange obsession with trains... I love losing myself taking photographs or riding aimlessly on my bike or motorcycle... I love dancing salsa, merengue, cumbia, irish set dancing.... yoga.... hiking through the forests of the magnificent Pacific Northwest... Gardening... and I do get a tremendous kick out of talking to strangers... ;o)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music I love anything that inspires or invigorates! Fulanito, Che Sudaka, James Taylor, Bad Religion, Jem, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Hector Lavoe, Los prisioneros, Dido, Maná, Juanes, The Cure... and just about anything with a banjo, cello or harp :oD Movies....... I don't watch many, but when I do they are usually documentaries or independent films. I recently saw The Good, the Bad, and the Weird which might be my new favorite. Almodovar. Life is beautiful. Ferris Buehlers day off. I read a lot of non-fiction, psychology/sociology/anthropology/linguistics books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

!!!!I brought a new human being into this world!!!!! I've been to 45 of the 50 states. I've been to the world's widest and the world's tallest waterfalls. I've traveled by boat through the amazon rainforest, and worked on a classic maya archaeological site in southeast Mexico. I ran a half-marathon in 1 hour 52 minutes(probably the MOST difficult thing I've ever done). ANNNDDD...I've held down the same job for over 7 years now(wow!!!!)

Teach, Learn, Share
