I am a 27 year old female who grew up traveling around the United States with my grandmother. I graduated college with a degree in Psychology and Gender Studies but am now planning on getting my masters in nursing as a stepping stone to becoming a midwife when I start graduate school after traveling.
My partner Michael and I are traveling long-term through SE Asia together and are wanting to move slowly to meet new friends and explore new cultures. We might be most excited to eat new food!
I have previously backpacked before around Western Europe with my cousin several years ago, and was lucky to utilize couchsurfing then, and am hoping I can share this unique experience with my partner!

We are both fun and outgoing people who can enjoy both a quiet night in or going out drinking and dancing! We're here to engage with like-minded people and share stories. We also have a workaway account set up, so if you're needing help with anything in your home or business, let us know! Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interests

I am very active and enjoy a variety of things. It's hard to come up with a list of things I enjoy doing! A non-exhaustive list of my interests includes playing card games, board games, floating/playing in bodies of water, drinking wine, reading, people watching, dancing, playing pool/billiards, hiking, aerial, yoga, cooking, occasionally talking politics and learning something new.

Music, Movies, and Books

So many to chose from! My favorite author currently is Chimmamanda Ngozi Adichi, so any of her work (Americanah and Purple Hibiscus are my top 2!) but To Kill a Mockingbird, Harry Potter series, Calvin and Hobbes, Fight Club and Invisible Monsters are the first that come to mind.
Michael is a huge Steven King fan, and his favorite book of his is The Long Walk.

I'll listen to any music and really enjoy being introduced to new music as well. That's obviously a blanket answer so I'll say that lately I've been listening to the Supremes, hip-hop from the 1990's, Blue Scholars, Macklemore, Fugees, E40, Nas, Tribe Called Quest, Black Keys...to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2012 I flew to Tanzania and worked with a team of doctors providing medical care to rural villages. The beginning of the trip I was a medical research assistant and tested the prevalence of diabetes in Tanzania, while the rest of the trip I was support staff for the team of doctors as we went village to village. I did this with a non-profit group based out of Washington State.
This was a phenomenal trip and was the beginning of my international traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a fun and engaging person who loves to share stories and loves hearing other stories even more. I can cook and talk about wine for hours. I laugh easily and smile often.
