About Me
Hello, I am new here!
I am a student, studying film and literature analysis. When I am not studying, I think about my next meal.
I used to be a barista and at that time I developed this habit of drinking three double expressos every single day.
Right now I work in an party planning company. For some reasons I am the only employee there so it's pretty chilled.
I'm really laid back, prefer the underground scene to more mainstream culture. I work in art galleries in Hong Kong before and have a keen interest in art and film.
Since studying at HKU I've met a lot of international students and they have inspired me to travel the world as a solo traveller.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to get out of the tourist bubble and actually meet some locals/fellow adventurers who care more about learning the culture of the country they are visiting than taking a selfie with the wonders of the world.
CS seems like a great way to exchange stories, find out more about the world I live in and countries/places I would like to visit. I can also share with my hosts my own experiences.
Why I'm NOT on Couchsurfing:
- To get laid
- To use hosts like a hostel without any interaction with my host
Interests
I kind of covered this in my about me... but yeah having worked in an art gallery in Hong Kong and studying film shows my interest in both of these fields.
I also really love going on random adventures spontaneously.
- arts
- culture
- literature
- cooking
- partying
- drinking
- traveling
- solo travel
Music, Movies, and Books
Indie, electronic, reggae, drum&bass, jazz, classical... pretty much everything, especially music from the old times. Big fan of going to live shows and seeing what the local music scene is like in new cities I visit.
Avid reader of all kinds of literature. Currently reading "No one belongs here more than you" by Miranda July
Film - as a film student where do I even begin.. I really like Trainspotting and Ron Fricke's documentaries e.g. Samsara, but I am interested in all genres. Some of my favourite directors; Wes Anderson, Xavier Dolan, Wong Kar-wai, Jim Jarmusch, Jia Zhangke, Tsai Ming-liang
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walk really fast in Amsterdam and pretend I ain't a tourist.
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach Cantonese, English and Mandarin, interested in learning French and Dutch which I've recently started studying.
I love to cook and I really want to learn how to cook new types of cuisine!
Share fabulous travel stories!
