ABOUT ME

I am an adventurous person who also happens to like being comfortable whenever possible. I am a kind person, but can sometimes be a little bit harsh or overbearing when concerned for myself or others. I am very easy to get along with, and tend to make friends fairly easily. I have recently spent a good deal of time hitch-hiking through new zealand, and have met more exciting and interesting people than in the entire previous year! I like things to be organized, and I like to have things planned out whenever possible, so I tend to be pretty tidy in my living habits. I enjoy open minded and charismatic people, or anyone who is willing to open themselves up a little bit and allow me to get to know them and vice versa.

PHILOSOPHY

At this point in my life I am all about getting back what i put out. I try to be as conscientious and caring as I can!

I'm extremely into music, both listening and playing. I play the drum-kit and have been doing so for about six years. I like many varied styles of music, from jazz to hip-hip, to metal, and am especially into indie rock. I really enjoy discovering new tunes and artists! I also enjoy climbing, running, and especially lifting, although I don't get in a lot of gym time while traveling. I like soccer quite a bit, and have played on and off since I was six. The island I live on in Maine is well suited for long-boarding, so I also happen to do a lot of that. As I have become more well traveled, I have discovered that I also enjoy picking up recipes and techniques for new and exciting foods. I am a very amateur cook, but enjoy the process very much, and am not afraid to get creative in the kitchen.

Muzyka, filmy i książki

So many books! I like Garth Nix, WIlliam NIcholson, Michael Chabon, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, I just read a nin-fiction book called Zeitoun that was an amazing story surrounding Hurricane Katrina in the U,S.

Music: SO much... I am unable to list it all, but here's a sample. Bon Iver, The Beatles, Mastodon, The Decemberists, The Clash, U2, Sublime, The Roots, Damian Marley, Passafire, Passion Pit, Muse, Outkast, Sun Ra, Jack Johson, Regina Spektor, Feist, Led Zeppelin, a thousand others...

1.) When I was about eight, my father took me backpacking in the Grand canyon for my first real, memorable, multi-day trip. I had my own little backpack, and can remember the weight of it against my small self as I trekked down one of the natural wonders of the world. We reached the bottom of the canyon at night, and I was very afraid of the dark tunnels that had been carved into the rock so that the path could meet up with one of the large suspension bridges that crossed the river. We camped at the bottom of the canyon that night, and the next morning I woke up and spent a day in paradise with my dad at the bottom of the canyon, hiking around near the water's edge, and soaking our feet in the river. On the trek up the day after, I looked back down at the miles of canyon that I had traversed, and was amazed that I had been a part of such a long journey through such a tranquil and beautiful atmosphere.

2.) When I was about thirteen, I went on a road trip with my father to California, where we climbed for a few days in Tuolumne Meadows, which is the more wild section of Yosemite National park. We did one of the classic climbs of America called cathedral peak, and I will never forget the view from the summit; the granite peaks stretching away before me, and the remains of a glacier tucked into the tops of the sierras, just a half a mile away. We spent a few days in the valley below cathedral peak, resting after our climb, and swimming in the extremely cold glacial pools that dotted the area around us. It was scenery so unlike anything I have ever experienced, and I will never forget it.

I can teach some elements of basic drumset percussion/ some more advanced grooves and beats. I have some good adventure stories, and can make you some banana crepes if you feel so inclined! I would love to learn new recipes, new musicians, new hobbies, or simply more knowledge about the wide wide world.
