Overview
About Me
Hi there! My name is Sundance (true story, no my parents aren’t hippies) and I am a current resident of planet earth, but more specifically, San Francisco, CA.
Instagram: @Heyimsundance
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to live in this amazing city for the past five years and I am excited to have the opportunity to travel the world and experience everything that is out there.
I am ambitious, smart (sometimes), known to make many bad jokes, always finding the joy in life and living it to the fullest.
I live every week like it’s shark week. I’m not exactly sure what that quote means but I heard it once and it spoke to me.
I am super passionate about many things, among those are soccer, music, philosophy, art in its many forms, and cultural exchange.
What I can offer you as a guest in your home is a respectful and endearing sense of decorum, coupled with my innate ability to recommend chasers for various types of liquors. 😉
My friends would describe me as an extremely positive lover of life; and someone who is very open and accepting of all view points in ideas.
If you read all of this, congrats! I hope we get to meet soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing to me represents humanities desire to explore and to learn of others. Until now, I have used Couchsurfing very sparingly, and its real power was not understood to me the first time I left the country for four months to South America.
The human condition is such a unique and amazing phenomenon. As I continue to grow, I am greatly humbled and grateful for the experiences brought onto me by others. I am passionate about living a life that is full of love and learning and I feel that Couch-surfing enables those desires for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Music honestly is my life, without it, I don't know where I would be. The first album I ever bought was "The Art of Drowning" by AFI, and since then; I have watched my musical tastes evolve over the years from punk rock bands like AFI and Anti-Flag to more aggressive metal groups like Converge and Unearth, to my discovery of Electronic music in 2012.
Since 2012, I've become very immersed in the very different genres of Electronic Music. Starting with Armin Van Buuren's "A State of Trance" mixes that I would use to study with in college, i've branched out immensely and have picked up an extremely varied palate when it comes to the scene. Since going to Burning Man every year since 2014, my tastes have gone to the underground Deep/Progressive House & Techno Scene. Right now, My favorite artist is Lee Burridge, or really any artist on the All Day I Dream label. To check out some of the sweet beats i'm listening to daily, heres my spotify playlist for you!

Movies:
Honestly, the Lord of the Rings movies represent a huge part of my upbringing and I hold those stories near and dear to my heart. Star Wars is also something I would say I am passionate about, but After the dumpster fire that was the Last Jedi; I think it is safe to say that a lot of that passion has dissipated. More recently, I have been absolutely blown away by the cinematic success that is achieved with each additional Marvel Movie that is released! It is so exciting to see such a flowing and intricately designed storyline be implemented on the big screen.
Aside from the obvious Nerd movies, I am also a huge fan of the works of directors like Darren Aronofsky, David Leitch & Christopher Nolan.
When it comes to TV, I love anything on Adult Swim and especially by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. I am also obsessed with Game of Thrones and one of my proudest achievements is the fact I have read all of the books!
Books:
The Game of thrones books are great segue into the third question as to what books I love! Like music, books have saved my life. Had I never been introduced to the amazing writings of Eckhart Tolle, I probably never would have discovered my love for travel the way that I have, and I have a feeling that my life would be lived a lot differently then it is today. “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle is seriously the most life-changing work of literature in existence today and if you haven’t read it, please PLEASE buy it here!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My life has been interesting to say the least. My father left my family when I was only ten years old, and as the oldest of three boys, I was tasked with helping my Mom raise my two younger brothers while she was busy working full time. I would say that being forced to grow up at a young age is something that nobody should ever have to go through, but it has helped mold me into the man I am today. Today, I am proud to say that my two brothers and I are extremely close and while it wasn’t always easy, I am so happy to have my tiny little family today.
Another feat I am proud of is that I have attended the Burning Man festival in Northern Nevada the past five consecutive years. Burning Man has radically changed my life in ways I never thought possible and I am so grateful for all of the amazing experiences the Playa has taught me.
Teach, Learn, Share
"The best way to live is to be free of worry, and free of attachment. You don't live your life but life lives you. Life is the dancer, and you are the dance." - Eckhart Tolle
