About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just livin!

ABOUT ME

A learner, thinker, and explorer; a curious and analytical individual; independent; open-minded and considerate; funny and playful; chill and laid back; enjoys engaging and interesting conversations with people from all over, loves to laugh and have a good time!

PHILOSOPHY

Experience is the currency of life--and as I've gotten older and been open to experiences, my life has become richer in so many ways. I always say--be open and honest with yourself and others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined and hoping for some new and unique experiences!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I never connected with anyone on this couchsurfing networking site, but I have definitely had some amazing hosting and surfing experiences!

I've traveled to many places and have met incredible people who have hosted me... my "surfing" experiences have been nothing short of spectacular.

THIS IS WHY I JOINED. I've met the coolest people traveling... why not again?!

Interests

I'm interested in people, culture, history of places I'm visiting or have visited, race and ethnic relations, politics and policy, basketball, sports, running for fun, reading books, going out for coffee or drinks.. and of course traveling. I'm hooked.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I love Lahiri and Allende. I just got into Junot Diaz. You should read his book Oscar Wao. It's pretty good shit. It didn't win the Pulitzer for nothing.

Music: Hip Hop and R&B mostly, but I'm open to anything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

--ONE?! I mean celebrating with everyone in Harlem, New York when Obama won the 2008 elections was pretty insane. Watching the sunrise in the Sahara Desert was amazing. Sleeping in a Masaai Village in Kenya was incredible. Teaching 2 years of 7th grade math in the Bronx, NY has been absolutely killer.

I haven't given birth. But they say that once you do, that'll top everything. Not anytime soon, though. ha.

Teach, Learn, Share

What do I write here? I'm always inquisitive and ready to learn! Teach? What can I teach you? I teach 7th grade mathematics if you wanna know...
