About Me

Hi there, I’m Sunni!

I’m from New York City and decided to quit my job to travel to Europe for my first solo backpacking trip! While there's still a lot to learn about myself, here are a few things I do know:
* I try to fill my life with art. It helps me relax and reinvigorates my excitement for the world around me, whether that’s drawing, painting, crocheting, digital art, poetry, or anything else!
* I'm a sucker for science. I think nature is magical and I'm always grateful to learn more about spaceship Earth. If you ever want to know more about rocks or the geology of Mars, I'm your person.
* I find language incredible and can speak Mandarin, some Spanish and Korean, and a bit of Japanese. Teach me some of your language!
* Food is 👌💖

I’m traveling to explore both the world and myself. I haven’t spent much time in Europe and am excited to learn from you; what your life is like and share a bit about my own. I hope we get a chance to meet!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All over the place, but can always settle on something calm and mellow; Joe Hisaishi, The Head and the Heart, Regina Spektor, Arcade Fire, Gregory Alan Isakov, Beach House, the occasional K-Pop ;)

Movies: Anything that can transport me to a different world for 2 hours; animated films, foreign films, and superheroes!

Books: Typically fantasy fiction or anything that gets at the raw emotions; Jonathan Safran Foer, Neil Gaiman. Lately, more non-fiction around identity and self-improvement.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Created a lesson on debriefing climate disasters that was later used in schools across Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria in 2017. I was later invited by the Puerto Rican Department of Health to see the lesson in action!
