Norwegian, going by Sunni. Currently living in Melbourne, where I'm studying a master in Publishing, Editing and Creative Writing. Hopefully I'll have a job at the end of this, and not just a massive debt.

I find myself more and more inclined to lead the simple life of a backpacker rather than the luxurious existence in an all-inclusive. Some experiences has been enhanced by great hosts through CS. I'm friendly and outgoing, easy going and up for adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Staying with locals can offer great company and inside knowledge about the place. I've also had some really great hosts than made my visit to their hometown better because of their company. I also believe in making travelling easier and cheaper. I hope to be able to repay the hospitality of the CS community when I am older and have a place where I can accept guests.

Interests

I like to write, I am a notorious tourist photographer, I play football (soccer) and handball, and I snowboard. My favourite thing in the whole world is a story that you cannot put down, so you stay up until 4AM to finish it even if classes start at 9AM next morning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
I love going to concerts, it's one of the things apart from travelling where I can spend large sums of money without feeling guilty afterwards. Favourites include Muse, Keane, Coldplay, Adele, Snow Patrol, the Script and Lifehouse. I am hardly ever up to date with popular music, and I probably only watch one music video a year.

Film
I am of the opinion that one is never too old for Disney, or that it is never the wrong time to watch Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. I tend to watch more tv shows that films (Modern Family is the current favourite), but I love to come across films that exceed any expectation on all levels, such as Inception and Interstellar.

Books
This one is tough. As a literature student who aspire to a career within the publishing industry, I try to read widely and often. I am of the Harry Potter generation, so that is the obvious favourite. I enjoy few things more than real good epic fantasy in the style of Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan. Terry Pratchett is another author I respect and love. Other favourites include The Book Thief, Before I Die, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, Pride and Prejudice, The Time Traveller's Wife, Stardust, and on it goes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving away from my home country. I have lived as a student in England and in America, and it has offered me so much in terms of seeing the world, meeting people from all cultures and just in my own growth as a person.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to say 'cheers' in Norwegian.
I can tell you why you should not go to Oslo if you visit Norway, and why the west coast is the better choice.

I want to practice and learn more Spanish, although I am often too shy to try it when the opportunity presents itself. I will also accept any tips on photography with open arms, as it is something I have great passion for, but not a lot of skill.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my enthusiasm for travelling, my previous experiences and travel tips, good conversation hopefully. I like to think of myself as a people-person, and I get along with most people, even if I may be a little shy initially.
