About Me

Hello all,

After a near death experience and about a year of severe depression, my faith in humanity was restored through the words and actions of a good friend. Friendships are sacred, in a good way.
I'm an artist at heart, with an analytical mind, who dabbles in many media forms. But other than that, I'm a good friend and an animal lover, trying to visit as many places as possible while I'm still young. I also travel to clear my mind from the very one track minded lifestyle of LA, be inspired by new locations and people and work on writing my screenplay(s).

The only reason that I can't accept guests is that I live in a condo with outrageously strict rules, but if you visit LA and wanna hangout, you can count on me :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to be -and still am partially- a very reserved person. After losing a few loved ones who died too young, I realized that I need to make a change and live life to the limit or I'll regret not accomplishing much. So here I am, travelling around, meeting up with people across the country and overseas, exploring new cities and getting to know new people.

If you are a filmmaker and want to collaborate with me, or need an extra pair of hands on set, I would be glad to work with you, for the beauty of cinema is in the teamwork put into it.

Interests

I enjoy hiking, sightseeing, museums, exploring nature, gardening, art galleries, good movies, board games, some videogames, good tea and coffee. You like playing in the snow? Awesome!

I also enjoy walking in the rain, the snow and on the beach, but who doesn't?

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a variety of music, but tend to lean towards R&B, indie singer-songwriters, Blues and Soul if I have to choose. I also like some Persian and Azeri music. Some of my -more well known- favorite musicians/bands are: Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey, Marvin Gaye, Sam Smith, Googoosh, Ebi, Smokey Robinson, Roberta Flack, Ellie Goulding, Adelle, Leon Lewis, Io Echo, Final Fantasy.

Films: As a film scholar, I have too many favorites to list here, what is your favorite film? Some of mine are: Ex-Machina, Magnolia, Her, Snowpiercer, Bringin' Up Baby (and many more comedies of the classical era), Double Indemnity, Sunset Blvd, almost all musicals, most expressionist films.

Books: The Plague by Camus, The Little Prince by Saint Exuperi, My Sweet Orange Tree by Vaskoncelos (actually, most of his works were awesome)

TV: Lost (watched it 4 times, still a fan), Bojack Horseman, Arrested Development, Castle, Better Off Ted, Once Upon a Time (If they re-edit this show, it would be awesome, but it's just too dragged out)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did ice cave diving, skydiving, rode a helicopter, lived in an abandoned village in the ice cold winter for a week, taught myself how to tune a piano and I'm good at it, do these count?

What I wish to accomplish is to make a change in people's lives with my art.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have questions about the art of cinema or animation, I have a lot to share. I can also teach you how to tune a piano (but that's too specific, isn't it? lol).

I'm a seeker of knowledge and wisdom, so if you can teach me a thing, anything, I would really appreciate it.

One lesson that I've learned is to be generous in spreading our love and showing our appreciation of our loved ones, for we never know how long a person will be in our lives, because there is nothing worse than regretting what we didn't do or say when it's too late.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I am a light traveler and wont bother you much, but would be glad to have a chat, if you like to do so. When travelling, I spend a lot of my time outdoors, trying to see all that a city has to offer and usually only come to my room for sleep, shower, etc. So you don't need to worried about mess or noise. I will respect the rules of your place and wont make a mess.

I can also help doing the dishes and laundry and some cleaning if you want me to.

If you want to charge me for my stay, or if you want me to buy groceries, it's cool with me. Just let me know before m travel date and we have a deal :)
