About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm on my way to finally finishing university. And after that it's: Australia - here I come!

ABOUT ME

Hm, how to describe myself? I'm a very friendly person who likes to smile - a lot :D I'm more the quiet type of person (but not shy)...but that really depends on the situation I find myself into, whether I "click" with people or need more time to open up to them.

When I started studying I told myself, that when I'm done with university I will go to Australia. What was first intended as a holiday trip for only a couple of weeks, soon changed into plans for one year (working holidays) and then I told my sister that I'd like to do a stopover in New York (update: a stopover in LA seems more likely now because of flight plans) and would love to visit an island in the pacific...and so "plans" changed again *g* So somewhen in 2011 my sister and I will travel together for a couple of months around (half/quarter) the world and then I'm staying for a year in Australia - can't wait! And after that? Don't know...will probably need a job...somewhere...on earth.

So, what else? Hmm...I dream of a world where there is no war and where everyone is treated equal. I'm still debating on whether it's possible to achieve world peace some day OR if it's an illusion and in the nature of mankind to want war to a certain degree (it only needs two (powerful) people who don't agree with something and aren't willing to negotiate...and soon other people will be involved. So the question is: will mankind overcome this desire to fight against each other someday or not?)

On one hand I like nature/beautiful landscapes/listening to the quietness of the night and gazing at stars, but on the other hand I also love big (hectic) cities with all its buildings and different people.

Oh, and I like everything that has to do with chocolate! I'm a chocoholic (if that word exists :D)

PHILOSOPHY

Everything that is to come is uncertain - live the moment! => try to live by it, although it's not always possible.
And also: Treat others like you want to be treated. (which means: with respect and unprejudiced)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie here - so don't have any experience at the moment. But I hope that will change in the near future. All I can say right now is that I only heard good things about couchsurfing :)

update: Have been a guest now at three CS hosts' homes - great every times!

Interests

- Astronomy (watching stars/planets at night; I'm also interested in some Astrophysics topics although it's sometimes very hard to understand things)

- English accents (I just like to listen to different accents), Philosophy (studying it)

- love to travel (I'd like to travel more once I'm done studying and having earned more money)...and I like to get to know new people from other cultures and their differences to my own culture

- I like "experiencing" around with food (as I call it LOL)...I'm not really a good cook (at least I don't think I am) and don't know that many dishes, but the action of cooking is quite satisfying (and since a couple of months I'm also more looking into all those incredients that are in products - try to be more aware of what one is eating day in and day out) ...and I discovered the fun in baking bread rolls (mind you I only have a very small tiiiny oven...but it's all the more fun this way...yeah, I have a twisted mind...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- watching the total solar eclipse 1999 in Bulgaria (amazing how everything became silent all of a sudden and when the sun came back there were so many birds singing)

- a moment, where i just thought "wow": watching the "transformation" of an actor I like in a theatre play in London's west end from "totally in character" to "being himself again" during the curtain call (hard to describe what I mean)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Sweden, United Kingdom
