About Me
Hey I'm Anna
California/Oregon grown, currently living in Boston. I graduated recently with an MBA/MA dual-degree and work as a program manager downtown. I've traveled internationally since before I could walk, and it has played a huge part in who I am today. After college I lived abroad in Asia for a few years and it was a life-changing experience. I've also spent a significant amount of time in Europe and Australia. My favorite places in the world are Portland (Oregon), the Causeway Coast (Northern Ireland), Morro Bay (California), Ireland (all of it), Sydney (Australia), Copenhagen (Denmark), and China (especially the Southwest part).
PHILOSOPHY
"If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough."
― Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
"Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."
― Albert Einstein
“…travel can become a compulsion. It keeps us away from friends and loved ones – even when we’re back. When I’m away, I often yearn for home. When I’m home, I’m listless. I seem no longer to fit. History and literature are filled with characters who see Asia, or Venice, and can never go back to the way they were.”
― Anthony Bourdain
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've met so many interesting, incredible people through CouchSurfing. I love hearing their stories, perspectives, dreams, and what life is like where they're from. Spending time with people from all over broadens my worldview and makes me a better person. I'm a firm believer that experiencing a place from a local's view is the best way to travel.
I've surfed and/or met up with CSers all over Asia, Europe, and North America. I've also hosted quite a bit in China, Oregon, and a few times so far in Boston. Even if I can't host, I'm always up for meeting new people, swapping stories, and showing them around beautiful New England!
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Sigur Ros, Mumford & Sons, Coldplay, Sara Bareilles, Nickel Creek, Ed Sheeran, acoustic stuff (love pretty much all kinds though)
Movies: Remember the Titans, Forrest Gump (not a huge movie/TV person...I'd rather be outside)
Books: I'm usually reading about current events, business, travel, global development, human rights issues, and non-fiction about different countries
