ABOUT ME
Native of Southern California (Malibu, Hollywood, San Diego etc). I've just completed a decade at university studying science--I got a little degree out of it and am itching to see the world outside my laboratory walls once again. I've travelled to many places and have a passion for the experience.
I tango, tango, tango--anywhere and everywhere. It is the dance of life. I play piano, am conversant in the language of hard core cyclists (and occasionally wear spandex) and adore science.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I find sharing my experiences with those of others to be the best participation possible in this endeavor.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Before graduate school, I travelled for about a year using CS the whole way--it was one of the best experiences of my life. If anyone sees "neutral ratings" from my hosts, note I travelled before this rating system was initiated so neutral was the default rating applied--comments are much more revealing. I think CS is the only way to know the world.
PLEASE NOTE IF READING REFERENCES. NEUTRAL REFERENCES WERE MADE BEFORE THE "POSITIVE, NEUTRAL, NEGATIVE" RATING SYSTEM WAS IN PLACE AND WERE THE DEFAULT SETTING. IF INTERESTED, PLEASE READ REFERENCES TO UNDERSTAND THEIR SENTIMENT
Interests
Argentine Tango, tickling the piano keys, trance music, SCIENCE, Intense long-distance cycling and bike touring, entrepreneurship, and of course---travelling and learning about the world around me. I do lots of stuff and find most things very interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite author--Ayn Rand--she's a bit extreme philosophically but a fantastic fiction writer nonetheless.
Favorite movie--or at least close to it--Office Space. It's a bit of encouragement to focus on my current mission of not living the cookie-cutter life.
Music Interests--Classical Piano, trance (Paul van Dyk, Above and Beyond, etc)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sitting alone in the sarcophagus room of the pyramid of Khufu in Cairo. There was a tour that was waiting outside the pyramid to come in as a group so they wanted everyone to clear out first--I was the last out so for about 10 minutes I was the only one inside the whole pyramid sitting in the center. It was a bit haunting and entirely transporting
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach piano, tango, and lots and lots of things about science!
