About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm preparing to backpack around Australia this Sept and Oct. I'm excited about lovely meeting couchsurfers downunder!

ABOUT ME

Friends have described me as kind, generous, patient, fun, loving and trustworthy. I'm friendly, respectful and chatty, yet I naturally like to have quiet time by myself too. I think my biggest assets are being practical, resourceful and creative.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to see the best in everybody and any situation. My main mottos in life are 'it is what it is' and 'life goes on'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love this comunity, it's a lovely reminder that there's so many lovely people in the world. At the moment I'm renting a room in a family house (and have done so for years). I wish I could host and will as soon as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with a couple of couchsurfers so far and enjoyed my stays! I'm hoping that my couchsurfing experience will grow.

Interests

I'm passionate about respectful childcare and educating toddlers through play, which is my profession. I also enjoy connecting with family and friends, spirituality, self development, reading non-fiction books and articles, expanding my blog (empoweringchildhood.co.uk), writing children's books, painting and paper crafts, editing photos (mainly collages and adding text etc) and tai chi (I'm still a newbie though).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love non-fiction books about gentle childcare, self development and spirituality among other things. The sort of movies I like are dramas, documentaries and comedies. I'm more of a fan of traditional music than the latest releases, other then that it doesn't really fit a pattern.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I loved chatting and laughing with friends from around the world in a boiling river in the Yellowstone National Park in Montana, USA. I also thoroughly enjoyed swimming in a large salt water pool in the French countryside of Aveyron in 43C heat alone, watching butterflies and birds... bliss!

Teach, Learn, Share

My life has given my lots of experience in chidcare, self development and striving for health. I definately still have loads learn!! :-) I would love to learn about tai chi and yoga from a beginers stand point too.

I'm very willing to barter while traveling. I mean, I have experience and wiliness to clean, paint rooms or furniture, babysit, garden or cook if you like. Then the use of your washing machine, food or a ride. :-) This is very optional! I do have savings, I can support myself, I just like to be resourceful. :-)
